I didn’t want to pony up the buck for a Kindle and now it seems that I don’t have to.

I don’t know how it will compare to the real deal but it may provide me an affordable alternative. I have also downloaded the Stanza app. Interesting the cost difference in some of the books. On Amazon for the Kindle the book is $9.90 while on Stanza related sites the same book was $23.00. Original price is $27.00
I am still a bit hesitant to spend $10 on a book to get loaded on a less than perfect book reading interface, but I am surely not going to pay $23.
I think the Amazon strategy is to get you hooked on Kindle’s format, unhappy with iPhone reading, and persuade you to part with the $350 to get a Kindle II.
All I can say is I have not regretted my Kindle I purchase — and it is the only electronic gizmo I’ve purchased (other than a lense for my D200) in the last 12 months.
I haven’t read on a Kindle yet so I have no comparison. The only comparison I have is between interfaces on the same device. Stanza wins hands down. It is very easy to shop for content and there are multiple stores or catalogs to download free content. I am hesitant to spend $10 for a book on the iPhone. Now if the Kindle offered to more realistic experience to that of a real book (font size, page size, etc.) then I might pay $10.
I think I need to see one of these Kindle things.
BTW, what lens did you purchase?
