Would North Carolina be inhabited if wasn’t for A/C?

How hot is it?

It’s so hot that I walked as slowly as possible across the parking lot so I didn’t turn into a human fountain and soak through my shirt. It’s so hot that exercise this evening would be suicidal.

  1. When I first moved here, NC had a record July for heat. The temperature never went below 90 degrees the entire month.

Now you know why we drink sweet tea, don’t wear socks, and lawyers wear seersucker suits down here.

  2. The humidity will kill you. Two of our dogs just crash in humidity, they start panting as soon as they get outside.

  3. Hi David,

Just looking around your blog this morning and besides the roadside memorials, NC and gardening posts jumped out at me.

When I moved to NC from Buffalo, NY many years ago I couldn’t believe no one was walking in the parks. It was in HOT July and I thought “Where is everyone”? The parks here are so beautiful. After a year of living here I discovered that the parks are used at different months than up north.

It is now spring, raining and warming up here

    Peace

    Diana
