Online crime maps

This ought to be more fun than owning a police scanner — guess which neighbor is battering the spouse, where’s the peeping tom, and watch as the world gets closer and closer to invading my backyard.

Barnstable gets crime maps.

This would have been porn for my grandmother.

  1. That is the coolest map ever. Nellie would have loved it from her command chair. “David, print me up one of those crimes maps wouldja?”

  2. A really good idea. We use to have a terrible problem in SF(western addition/pac. heights) with broken car windows.

I always thought if we just made a community map we could easily plot where they were striking and set up a system to show police, “you should patrol these areas between such and such a time.”

Just another hippie dream that I didn’t follow up on.
