Not entirely true. This Lenovo employee is running Vista (Business, 32-bit) and figured out how to get into the corporate VPN, email, intranet, instant message, and other back end XP-based systems. On my own, mind you.
Month three of Vista and no way I would go back to XP. Performance is fine, indeed great on my X200 (Core 2 Duo P8600@2.4GHz and 4.00 GB RAM) and shows a 3.8 “windows experience index).
I won’t speak for our CIO, but why would we rush to embrace Vista? We’re no different than any customer and we’ve got other IT priorities in the pipes. I know a ton of colleagues, as they get new systems based on the so-called Montevina processor refresh, who are asking me to help them hack their way onto the corporate networks with Vista. It’s pretty easy.

I too am a Vista convert. With current 3GB or greater base memory configs, its very responsive.
The only problem I’ve had is with my Samsung laser printer, which doesn’t work with Vista’s kernel. Samsung says “tough shitski..” so I’m back to a Lexmark inkjet all-in-one, which does work quite well.

When Miss betsy and i do a beach walk down from Coronado, we count illegal alien swimmers bobbing inshore on the north -flowing current from Mexico. not very photogenic but at least we get to see some very fast coast guard rough water rescue boats zipping up and down the coast.
Water temp dropping and the yellow tail are fleeing. Oh well, it was a fun four.- month season but there are still a few dorado lwft around the inshore kelp paddies.
