The word of the day …

is vitrectomy. Noon at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary. Seems pretty interesting. Outpatient. Couple punctures in the eyeball. Drain it. Fix the tears with a laser. Refill with silicone. Inflate with a gas bubble to push the detachment into place and then six weeks of heads down posture to insure a good result.

Bottom line prognosis? Not going to be winning any gold medals in sharpshooting or hitting in the clean up position for the Sox.  From what I can tell I will be able to see well enough to walk and not get taken out by a bus when I cross the street.
