NYC in mid-August

Streets are vacant. Like a scene from The Omega Man. All sentient creatures are on Nantucket or in the Hamptons. Me? Two days of intense meetings, then back to the Cape. Beautiful flight in this morning from Hyannis — came in low over Nantucket and saw swarms of bonito breaking in the channel between Tuckernuck and Muskeget.

  1. NYC in summer!

The smell of stale urine wafting up through the subways!

The weekends are great, you can actually get into the good restaurants for a dinner that is not at 5:15 or 10:45 PM

I will soon be flying the other way to the Vineyard for 6 days of surfing, sailing and fishing!

  2. “…Nantucket or in the Hamptons.” or the Mid-Hudson Valley! (aka “Next-chester”) Took me 15 minutes to get through my village traffic intersection this morning behind a parade of Lexus, X5’s and Hummers.
